In Politicizing Islam: The Islamic Revival in France and India, sociologist Fareen Parvez examines two countries where the revival of Islam has been faced with politicization and crises of secularization. Through observation of communities in both countries, Parvez seeks to both challenge the monolithic view of the revival of Islam and give a voice to the Muslims living and working in two cities, Lyon and Hyderabad, while examining how differences in secularism have given rise to two very different experiences.
