Alumni of George Mason University’s Creative Writing MFA Program gather together to read selections from their latest poetry and prose. In her first full-length poetry collection, Empire, Tracy Zeman explores the colonization of the prairie through an ecological lens. Kathy Goodkin’s debut poetry collection, Crybaby Bridge, captures both small tragedies and moments of beauty in everyday life. In his novel The Vain Conversation, Anthony Grooms tells the story of a 1946 lynching of two black couples from three perspectives. Tara Laskowski’s novel One Night Gone explores a mysterious disappearance and the woman who, thirty years later, is drawn into the mystery and the dark secrets of a small beachside town.
